Link Your Accounts!

To get started with Perusall 1.3 in Canvas, follow the steps to link your Perusall 1.3 account with your Perusall 1.1 account and create a Perusall 1.3 course that is linked to your Canvas course. By linking your Perusall 1.1 account with your new Perusall 1.3 account you will be able to import content from your existing Perusall 1.1 sites into Perusall 1.3 sites.

  1. Navigate to your Canvas site where you want to use Perusall
  2. Enable Perusall 1.3 in the course navigation menu**
  3. Click on Perusall 1.3 in the course navigation menu. You should see the following message:
You already have a Perusall account under the email address on file in your Learning Management System. Perusall can connect your existing account to your Learning Management System so you can launch Perusall directly from your LMS. Perusall has sent you an email to confirm this operation; please check your inbox and click on the link in the email to confirm.
  4. Navigate to your OSU email inbox and locate the email from Perusall. You should see the following message in the email:
You or someone else recently tried to log into your Perusall account from a Learning Management System using this email address. If this was you, click below to link your existing Perusall account with your Learning Management System. If you did not initiate this change, simply ignore this email; your account has not been changed.
  5. Click Confirm Request in the email from Perusall. This should open a new tab in your browser with the following message:
Your existing account has been connected to your Learning Management System. Return to your LMS and launch Perusall again to access your account!
  6. Navigate back to your course in Canvas and click on Perusall 1.3 again

After clicking on Perusall 1.3 again, you should now see an empty Perusall site that is linked to your Canvas site. You can now import content from an existing Perusall site.
