Updated Canvas "Assign To" Functionality

As of Summer 2024, some 'Assign To' functionality has been expanded to Canvas Pages and Modules!

Canvas Pages

The 'Assign To' functionality that is available on assignments, quizzes, and discussions is now also available on Canvas Pages - minus the 'due date' field which is still enabled by marking the 'Add to student to-do' checkbox and entering a date (left image). The 'Assign To' box design on assignments, quizzes, and discussions also has a new look (right image).

Additionally, a new Assign To button is also available on the overview page for assignments, quizzes, discussions, and pages for quick access to edit the users and dates in the 'Assign To' box:

Some faculty may find the existing Bulk Due and Availability Date Edit tool easier to use for standard Due and Availability Date updates.

Modules

The Assign To functionality can now also be used with Modules to assign modules to specific students or sections within a course. This functionality is accessed by clicking the three vertical dots on a specific module and selecting Assign To from the module menu:
